Foot Baths
It's often easy to forget to take care of ourselves when we are taking care of others. If we don't, we aren't as good at taking care of others. No bunny needs a burned out guardian.

One of the first things we have to do in order to take care of ourselves effectively is to schedule self caretaking into our lives. Pick a "me time," and commit to it.

Now, what does one do with that time? Everyone is different and so has different needs. One thing we can all do is pamper our feet. As reflexology teaches us, congestion or tension in any part of the foot mirrors congestion or tension in a corresponding part of the body. By massaging the feet, we are massaging the entire body.

A great way to begin a pampering session is a foot bath. There are many products available to help sooth our feet in drug stores and health food stores. Johnson's Foot Soap is a relatively inexpensive product that works wonders. Relaxing the feet in a small tub or dish pan with hot water and a packet of Johnson's Foot Soap can feel like heaven.

After soaking, use a loofa sponge to smooth the skin. Rinse feet in cool water and then apply a lotion or oil. A bit of lavender, jasmine or sandalwood oil in pure jojoba oil is a homemade oil recipe that will give a sense of peace.

While rubbing it in, use small circular motions with your three middle fingertips. Utilize the amount of pressure that is most comfortable. Now slip on some soft slippers.

The entire experience is reminiscent of an expensive day spa treatment and can be had for under ten dollars.

Kindness is a holistic concept. Being kind to ourselves is as important as Kindness to others.
