Just Say No!It is with great sadness that we have learned that Petco has signed a lease for space in San Luis Obispo's Madonna Shopping Center. After checking with the San Luis Obispo City government offices, there is no recourse. There is no legal way to say no and stop the emergence of a Petco store in our county.We also called the corporate offices in San Diego. The customer relations department informed us that they plan to sell animals at the new store in SLO. This major chain store has a long history of animal abuse. As if we didn't have enough to do, we find in necessary to do what we can to educate the public and inspire local action. The following pages are meant to give information that will empower readers to make educated choices. It is our hope that San Luis Obispo County, a community that prides itself in it's love for animals, says no to animal abuse. How we do that will depend on Petco as much as it depends on us.
