An Incredible Program
When we look at all of the issues and the magnitude of problems facing Animals, the Environment and Humans today, it is easy to become overwhelmed. What solutions will work? How can we be the most time and cost effective? NAHEE, National Association of Humane and Environmental Educators, a program developed by HSUS, has figured it out.
To begin with, it is easy to recognize that we have to start with the children. It is their world that we are saving. It is they who will see a Humane Planet. And so the solution begins with educating them. Which is what Kind News does.
Kind News places an educational newspaper into classrooms nine times each school year, or once a month. Thirty two copies of the newspaper as well as Kind Kid Club cards, a poster announcing that the Teacher of the Classroom has been adopted and supplemental materials for the Teacher are delivered for only thirty dollars a year.
This is an incredibly cost effective way for all of us to reach so many. Not only are we educating the children, the newspaper becomes available to the families, educating them as well.
NAHEE gives us the opportunity to "Adopt A Teacher" and therefore a classroom of our choice. We can also let them handle finding a Teacher interested in the program. For those who are doing Humane Education Work in schools, this program becomes an excellant supplement to such volunteer programs.
