I'm allways glad to have new friends, but Vultures? I don't know.

Vulures Are Our Friends! The human explained that Vultures eat dead guys. Eat them right up. They use their great sense of smell and and their eyes to look for dead things. That's what they're doing when they fly above us. I had been confused about this because I know they are Raptors. Remember Raptors? Raptors are Birds that eat meat. They are big Birds, like Owls, Eagles, Falcons and Hawks. These Birds like to eat most of the people in my family, like the Rabbits. So I don't like them and I always tell them to go away when they come near. Since the people in my family are all alive, the Vultures won't want to eat them. So now that the human had explained that Vultures eat dead things, I know they are not to bad. I still didn't know why they were our friends though. And so the human went on to explain. She told me that the Vultures have very strong digestive acid in their stomachs. Everybody has digestive acid in their stomach to help turn food into energy. The Vulture's acid is stronger than muine or yours or most people. It helps the Vulture eat real yucky stuff that would make most people sick! They don't even get a tummy ache when they eat really bad stuff. They can eat diseases like anthrax, botulism and cholera. These are real bad diseases that can kill most people. When they eat dead people who died of these diseases and others, they keep the disease from spreading! If it weren't for them, a lot of people, both human and Animal, would get sick. Before she explained this, I thought the only thing they were good for were cartoons. Now I know better. And since I know they are our friends, I studied up on them so I would now as much as possible about them. That way we can all help to protect them. They are an important part of our environment.
