The Sanctuary
Vultures
A Wildlife Report by Sequoia Dog

The Sanctuary is a einzy tinzy part of the world. It is a tiny part of California. It is a small part of San Luis Obispo County. It is part of the area called Creston. It is my whole world which sometimes seems to big for me to watch over.

And so it is with many things. To an ant a kitchen seems as big as the planet, the house as big as the Universe. Everything depends on ones view.

And to most people, Vultures are seen as evil.

That is how I saw them one day when they came and sat in the trees outside our yard. Any Animal that comes near our yard that the human does not introduce to me as friend is an intruder. And is bad.

Sequoia DogAnd when I figured out that they wanted the Raccoon who had died on the hill, I thought for sure they were bad because anything I could smell was mine if the human didn't want it.

Well guess what? The human explained to me that there was more to see when I looked at Vultures. That there are important things that need to get done that only Vultures can do.

Now the way I see Vultures is different. And I thought I'd share all of this with you!
