Here's the first word Meego uses to confuse:But When we use this word we are saying that anything we said before is not true. For Example: "I think I can do anything but I don't think any one will let me." If someone said this, do you think the person really thinks that they can do anything? The second part of the sentence makes the first part sound less important. It takes away all of the power of the person's thought that they can do anything. Another Way To Say It: "I think I can do anything. I don't think anyone will let me." Saying it the second way lets the first sentence carry it's own weight. It keeps all of it's power. It makes the second part sound silly. Both parts of that statement can be true. Perhaps the person has very positive thoughts and also has some fears. It is good to see the fears. We can choose not to let them be more powerful than the positive thoughts. An Exercise: Listen to yourself talk. Find out how often you use the word but. Substitute it for the word and, or leave it out. See if you experience talking with other people differently when you don't use the word. Let's learn the second word >>
