Ever Meet A Jerk? They're everywhere. It's hard to go through life with out meeting someone who acts mean. There are a couple of ways we can react to meeting someone who does mean things. Sometimes a mean person will say something about us that is not Kind . We may feel very sad. Sadness does not feel very powerful so we choose to get angry. Anger feels powerful and when people hurt our feelings, we want to find a way to control the situation. Anger gives us the feeling that we have control and power. And we can forget the feeling of being sad. What happens when we do this? First of all, we really loose control. Anger is very hard to control within ourselves once we let it go and give it the power to fix a problem. Also, we forget our sadness and hurt. ![]() What happens to these feelings when we forget them? They don't go away. They get hidden under the anger. They stay deep below and whisper in our hearts and minds until we find ourselves depressed. Being depressed is a deep deep sadness that is very hard to break free of. When we don't forget our sadness and hurt, when we allow those feelings to come to the surface, they go away! They don't last forever. We've all heard the expression "cry it out." That's all that it takes to get past them. It's ok to feel hurt. It's part of being human. It's part of Life! What about frustration? >>
