Don't Forget - The Sheep Goats, and Llamas of The Sanctuary
|
Enough Chit ChatYou've been listening to the humans and others around here explaining things, justifying their exsistense, attempting to entertain and inform you. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah blah blah. I'm Elvis and that's good enough. I'm here, I rule, I'm in your face. If you ever come here, you'll have to get through me. Forget the Dogs. Forget the Pigs. Forget the Emu. It's me who will come to your car door. It's me who will herd you in the direction I please. It's me you are suppose to feed. I won't be appeased and I'll get what I want. Like I said, I'm Elvis and that's good enough.
I'm old. I've got arthritis, just look at my back foot. I'm recovering from being way to thin. I got here in bad shape. I was found at a Shelter by the human. I'm not telling her how I got there. None of her business. All she has to do is feed me. Today she thinks she has to take my picture. Fine. You want me to pose? Feed me. Give me Alfalfa Hay, like the Vet said. I like it. I need the calories. So what if I'm gettng a potbelly. Just look at my haunches. My coat is shiny now. Keep it that way.
Today she put the food on the ground. I don't care where it is. Usually she puts it in a feed bin that's hanging off of something to keep it from getting yucky things in it. Well maybe that's good and maybe it's not. I'm not sure what yucky things she's talking about. I like some yucky things. I like the paper she writes notes on and tries to put up on the gate for other humans. Looks like a good snack to me. I can't understand why she refuses to let me go through the garbage. There's good stuff in there. She won't let me in the Rabbit yard. They've got good food you know. Don't you think she should let me have it?
I've got a lot to do. I have to herd the sheep out of here everyday. Make sure they're gone in case anybody dispenses extra food before dinner. They can graze. They've got forty acres of pasture. Personally, I like my food delivered. But they don't need that. They're lucky to be here. They were suppose to breed trophies for hunters before they were abandoned. Now they're here. They get protection from the Coyotes sleeping in the Barn every night. They get vaccinations. They get carrots and hay for dinner like me. I should get the extra food.
Living with all of these other species is interesting. I'm used to it. Like the sheep slow things down doing this bowing thing. It's part of their mating dance. Which they do even though the guys are all neutered like me. And there's the Dogs. They know who's boss. Me! Usually they keep those Pigs away from the gate the human hides behind. That way if she comes out I get first pick at any food she's got. As you can see Marty the Dog is not doing his job. So I've got to go get busy and get that Pig out of here myself. Why don't you go meet the LLamas? Now there's a strange duo.
Off To Meet The Llamas
