Child Protection
As we start this area of the site, we are addressing three very important issues. We will be adding articles as time goes on and we welcome suggestions and articles from you, our readers. In the meantime we hope you find our current offerings helpful and informative.
Understanding the scope of the problem presented to our society in regards to Child Abuse turns out to be a difficult task. Because of different methods of reporting and maintaining statistics a clear view is hard to obtain. After analyzing the data that is available, some surprising facts about Child Abuse in the U.S. do come to the surface. To learn more, see Child Abuse Facts and Ending Sexual Abuse. We also present, through an Internet Partnership with the
National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, an opportunity for you to become familiar with Children in your community who are missing. NCMEC has worked on more than 73,000 cases of missing and exploited children, helped recover more than 48,000 children, and raised its recovery rate from 60 percent in the 1980s to 91 percent today. As the nation's resource center for child protection, NCMEC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. NCMEC spends 91 percent of its revenue directly on programs and services. Quite an Org! To make this resource a worthwhile one, as you look at the childrens pictures, make a mental note of some feature that will help your memory alert you should you encounter a Child from the pages in your day to day activities. Together we can make a difference in the lives of these Children. See Missing Children - Making A Difference here on our pages.

This wouldn't be a Kind Planet if we didn't offer some tools for healing the problems and issues we are facing. Kind Planet Reporter Lisa Wagie offers both her personal experience with, and information about this innovative partnership in healing that people across the nation have formed with Animals in Animal Assisted Therapy and Activities. We are also proud to be sharing a very special story about two special beings, Abby & Royce.
